I was fortunate enough to catch the Katie Couric Show this morning and on it she had one of my favorites, Lauren Conrad. If you don't already know who Lauren Conrad is, you should. She is a fashion guru, blogger, writer, reality star, and philanthropist. Lauren has now embarked on a new endeavor. She was on the show talking about her new website, The Little Market. What The Little Market is is where "they work with artisan groups in developing countries around the world. They provide design insight and showcase the skills of the artisan partners to a broader audience. All proceeds go back to the groups through the sales of their products. The sole purpose to them is to combat poverty, empower communities, and create social justice."

Mission " is to build sustainable partnerships with artisans in developing countries, by connecting them with customers through an online marketplace. We seek to empower women artisans to rise above poverty and support their families.

Our handmade goods showcase the artisans’ traditional skills and their dedication to preserving their artisanal techniques.  We source all of the artisans’ products ethically and practice fair trade  principles. We acknowledge the interdependency of people around the world and our responsibility to help others."

Not only does the shop have accessories, but they also have items for the holidays, baby items, decor, kitchen items, and trunks. They have some absolutely adorable and great products and I still can't believe that it all goes to a good cause. To feel good about what you're doing when you're shopping is a definite WIN WIN! In addition, who wouldn't want to have a great talking piece that they can show off to guests in your home or wear it out and about?!

Check out their website for more information about the different artisans, values, social responsibility, the goods (of course), and more. This is such an amazing shop for what it stands for and for who it benefits.

This is a MUST checkout website/shop!

What a better way to support your community and get some of your Christmas shopping done, with a little bit for yourself too, then by going out to your local small businesses for Small Business Saturday!

Forget about the big, name brand stores that you usually go to and try something new. Small businesses are fair priced and always carry unique items. You never know what you'll find. I've found some great items from small businesses and not only do you get great items, all the money goes back to people in the community. Can you say that about other stores you shop at? My guess is you don't know where your money's going.

So get out there and stay close to home by supporting Small Business Saturday.
